The Tour de France - the world's best-known and most important road cycling race - was dominated by Denmark this year. Not only that the capital Copenhagen was the starting point of the first stage. No, in the end the Dane Jonas Vingegaard also won the race!

The excitement within the Scandinavian kingdom was great from the start. To mark the occasion, NEW YORKER created an exclusive t-shirt collection for our store in Copenhagen. The 300 limited edition shirts were created in close collaboration between our purchasing department and our design department and were sold out within two weeks due to the great help of our store team. A real winner!

Since 1903, the world's best cyclists have been competing for the coveted victory at the Tour de France. The varied and challenging routes lead mainly across France and nearby countries. For some years now, the event has also been held in countries further afield - such as Denmark for the first time in 2022.

The Tour kick-off on July 1 in Copenhagen sent the entire country into a veritable cycling fever. Denmark was full of euphoria and gave the professional cyclists an incredible start - and was rewarded on July 24 with the total victory of the Dane Jonas Vingegaard in Paris.
