7 tips for beautiful hair overnight.
We all know the bed head look. Wild, straw-like hair, which is really hard to brush. Here we have some top tips for you! NEW YORKER News shares seven tricks that can turn your hair into a dream mane overnight.

Tip 1: Go to bed with dry hair.

Never, never, never go to bed with your hair down and wet! Why not? Hair is more sensitive when wet, if it rubs on the pillow when sleeping, it can lead to split ends and hair breakage. If you wash your hair in the evening, you should allow enough time to blow-dry or leave it to dry in peace. If you do blow-dry make sure you use heat protection! To protect your hair from split ends, braid it into a loose plait while it is still slightly damp.

Tip 2: Leave hair mask on overnight

The only exception that justifies wet hair whilst sleeping is hair care. Overnight, masks and treatments have plenty of time to work deep into the hair. Here, either a leave-in care can be used or a mask that is washed out in the morning. Spread the product generously into the hair and then wrap or braid the wet hair loosely in a microfiber towel, and when you wake up you can look forward to a fantastically shiny mane.

Tip 3: Plopping

Speaking of microfiber towels: There is a great curl over night trick that works great with this very same towel: plopping. Here, the hair is freshly washed and wrapped in a microfiber towel or cotton shirt, where it is transformed into beautiful, defined curly curls overnight.

Tip 4: Sleep with hairstyle

If you sleep with your hair down, you run the risk of the hair on the pillow surface being roughened or, in the worst case, even breaking off. Dry hair is therefore best protected in two ways: a loosely twisted bun or a braided plait. Both variants protect the hair from breaking, as they do not rub individually over the pillow. In addition, this can add some waves to your hair. The tighter the braid or bun is tied, the curlier the curls become and the more volume the hair has. But beware! Both hairstyles should not be too tight to prevent hair breakage overnight.

Tip 5: Use gentle hair bands

In general, and thus also for sleeping, the following applies: If you want to protect your hair, you should avoid hair ties and clips with metal parts. If you tie a chignon or braid your hair overnight, then use a scrunchie or a hair band made of silk or velvet without metal insert to fix your hairstyle.

Tip 6: Bed your head on silk

Protect your skin and hair even with your choice of bedding. Cotton, linen ect. are often too rough for sensitive hair and put additional strain on it. Smooth silk is better. If you don't want to change all your pillowcases, a sleeping cap or silk scarf will be enough to give you a nice mane in the morning.

Tip 7: Dry shampoo against greasy roots

Dry shampoo is the universal remedy for all those who do not want to wash their hair every day. If it is applied to the greasy roots before going to bed, the dry shampoo absorbs the sebum overnight and you wake up with fat-free roots. The same also works with baby powder, particularly with short hair, which is pressed flat overnight and quickly becomes greasy again. Add a little baby powder to the roots and you’ll wake up in the morning with healthy, fresh hair.

Sleep your way to the hair of your dreams. A braid protects against hair breakage and creates wavy hair overnight.
