More than 3 million people in Germany work in retail trade every day. For centuries, the retail sector has been the beating and proud heart of Germany's city centers. In every second store, textiles, shoes or leather goods are sold. Until now!
Because another lockdown would be equivalent to the bankruptcy of thousands of retailers and thus the unemployment of their employees.
We are all aware of the seriousness of the pandemic. For months, we have been helping to overcome this crisis with well-founded hygiene concepts. But another closure of the stores during this Christmas period, which is very important for many retailers, would not only result in human and cultural erosion, but would also have irreparable economic consequences. We can't let that happen.
